Some of you have heard of my unusual bars, which l used to make several years ago and enjoyed very much.
I use organic sunflower seeds which l soak to start the sprouting process. When they are ready, l toast them with either fresh organic garlic and herbs (marjoram, oregano, thyme and basil), and a bit of salt.
This mix is then mixed with dark chocolate. It doesn't go with milk chocolate at all so l didn't do any.
The other seeds are toasted with organic curry powder (turmeric, coriander, fenugreek, salt, chilli, onion, garlic, ginger, fennel.) then mixed in milk chocolate with added raisins.
This mix doesn't go with dark chocolate at all so l didn't do any.
If you want to shock someone traditional, this is an exciting idea for a present! It is delicious, one of my favourite. A crunch with the seeds and unusual flavours which we don't normally associate with chocolate, but the sort of thing a high end chef would do and customers with an adventurous mind would enjoy.
Now, l will not go as far as doing bacon dipped in chocolate which they like in the USA...that IS too far, even for me! (too greasy)
